Wow a lot has happened this year! It has been almost one year since I started this blog. I didn't post as much as I hoped that I would, but I'm still proud of myself for doing it.
Over the past year I learned many things:
--I learned that you have to say goodbye to people. We lost our sweet Lauri this year. The sunshine that she brought to our lives was gone. I learned that sometimes you have to let go of people. She was hurting. She was tired. She wanted to go home. I am so thankful that God took her to her forever home where she is free from the bondage that her disease had over her.
--I learned that God will say no sometimes before he says yes, and that's ok. Alex and I had been trying to get pregnant for a year this past September. I never knew that at 22 years old it would be so difficult! In high school the teachers and parents make it sound so easy you're terrified! Some people are blessed to have it come so easy for them, but that was not the case with us. We sought out help from our doctor and in October our greatest wish came true! We were expecting a little baby! Unfortunately, the timing just wasn't meant to be. We lost that little jelly bean 6 days after we found out. Then, on Monday December 22nd we were blessed AGAIN! I tested and tested and finally believed it was true after about 5 tests. I called the doctor and she did a blood test which confirmed our great news: we are having a baby! We were so excited and so much more confident in this little love bug and in God that we told everyone.
We have had our up's and down's this year but overall, every day brought me joy. Every day I found something to smile about and something to thank God for. No, I might not have gone whitewater rafting in Colorado. (I went to DISNEY WORLD!) No I might not have gotten pregnant in Oct (I got pregnant in Dec!) My life is beautiful because of the people who are in it. I wouldn't change one thing from 2014.
My goal for 2015 is to keep finding the sunshine each and every day.
Happy New Year!
