Oh Pinterest. What did we ever do before you came along? How did people have weddings, throw parties, decorate houses, raise children, cook dinner, and pretty much survive? Seriously, Pinterest is my go-to place for pretty much any decision I make. I have been wanting to decorate our apartment as many know, and I came across a lot of people doing stuff with animal silhouettes. I fell in love! Today I printed off a few great looking deer silhouettes and decided that I was going to do a wall collage from that. I'm in need of some more frames so as of right now this is my first one that is completed :) I hope you love it because I was pretty impressed with myself.
1. I was impressed to see that my cutting abilities have improved since elementary school where a "straight line" meant a zig-zag.
2. I was impressed with the fact that I found my hidden glitter stash under the bed. (It's in a shoe box...kind of a long story...)
3. I was impressed that I didn't "accidentally" pour the entire thing of glitter all over our house. (It's just so hard to refrain from wanting to literally "glitterfy" everything!)
Why yes, I did just make up that word.
Glitterfy \glit-ter-fie\ ; the ability to turn an object into something amazing by putting glitter onto the object that was once plain, boring and sad.

"There's more?" you ask. Why yes! Once my creative juices start flowing you cannot stop them. So the next project that I wanted to conquer tonight was my corkboard. I intended to just paint the frame, but the more that I thought about it, (and yes fine, the more I looked at Pinterest) I really wanted to paint the actual cork. I am one of the many people who are obsessed with chevron so naturally, I went with the chevron look.
I should pause right here and mention that I am not someone who takes the time to make sure that things are precise and accurate, unless it's something that comes with instructions.
My tape did not come with instructions. So naturally, I just thought I would "wing it". I'm not super bummed about how it turned out because I'll have stuff pinned on there to cover up my crooked lines.
**My free advice? Just suck up your pride and use a ruler or something.

Last but not least, my chalkboard. This has got to be the best purchase I made for our apartment.
(besides like, you know, a washer and dryer)
I have tried to come up with cute little things for each holiday and season which has been really fun! I put Alex's Valentine's Day letter on there and it's just fun to be able to do something a little different like that. Below is a little slideshow of my chalkboard art.
***Disclaimer: When I say "art" this is a very loose term.
Enjoy!
